MK-677 has been shown to stimulate GH release [§2] in vitro (EC50 = 1.3 nM) as well as increase plasma levels of GH [§2] when administered into rats' bodies, though it can be more difficult for this compound—due its high affinity with the ghrelin receptor—to penetrate cells at high doses than other compounds without such an affinity would have difficulty doing so.
